Project stories
A family story, written in the stars
Leo, Cancer and Taurus come together in one family artwork. By day, the image is full of colour and detail. After dark, the same canvas reveals its zodiac symbols in light.
A personal idea, expressed through symbols
A custom painting can begin with something more personal than a favourite image. In this project, three zodiac signs are brought into a single composition. The lion, bull and crab each have a place in the artwork, against a dark, star-filled background.
The meaning comes from the combination of those signs. The painting does not need a written explanation on its surface for the family reference to be there.
The night design has its own focus
The night view picks out the animals’ outlines and selected details. The background recedes, and the symbols become the clearest part of the image. It is the same artwork, with a different visual emphasis.
This is why the illuminated design deserves attention of its own. Lighting every part of an image is not always the most interesting choice; deciding what to reveal can give the finished painting another way to be seen.
What this means for your own idea
Think about which parts of your story belong in the daytime artwork, and which details you would like to stand out after dark. A symbol, a familiar place or a short piece of text can be a useful starting point.
You do not need to arrive with the lighting design worked out. For a custom project, we agree the daytime visual, develop the night design and review day and night mockups before physical production starts.
That review is where we check whether the two versions express the idea you want. The custom design guide explains what to share and how the approval process works.
