Hang & care for your painting
Your painting comes with a sawtooth hanger and pre-fitted Command picture hanging strips. Choose a method suitable for the artwork and your wall.
Check your wall and hanging method
The artwork-side Command strips are already fitted, with the quantity selected for the painting’s weight. Before attaching them to the wall, check the instructions supplied with your artwork and the limits printed on the strip packaging.
Command picture hanging strips need a suitable smooth, clean, dry surface. Painted walls in good condition, finished wood, glass, tile and metal are among the surfaces described by 3M. Do not use them on wallpaper, brick, heavily textured or rough surfaces. Follow the supplied package’s waiting period for newly painted walls. 3M surface guidance.
Follow the weight and size limits of the supplied product. 3M instructs users not to hang these strips above beds or use them for valuable or irreplaceable items. Where strips are unsuitable, use the sawtooth hanger with a wall fixing appropriate to your wall and artwork weight; consult an installer if you are unsure.
Finish installing the Command strips
These steps adapt 3M’s application instructions to your pre-fitted artwork. Follow your supplied packaging.
- Prepare the wall. Clean with rubbing alcohol and let it dry; avoid household cleaner or water.
- Prepare the strips. Keep the artwork-side strips in place. Remove the wall-side protective liners following the supplied instructions.
- Attach the painting. Level it and press firmly over each strip position.
- Temporarily detach it. Peel away as illustrated by 3M. Press each remaining wall strip for 30 seconds.
- Wait one hour before rehanging.
- Reattach. Align the pairs and press until they click together.
Choose a position that leaves the charging or power connection accessible.
Remove the strips correctly
Detach the painting from its lower corners following the packaging. Release the wall adhesive by slowly stretching each tab downward, parallel to the wall; never pull outward.
Removed adhesive cannot be reused. Use suitable replacement strips if you move the painting. 3M replacement guidance.
Care for your artwork
- Gently wipe the surface with a soft or microfiber cloth.
- Do not use chemical cleaning products on the artwork.
- Keep the painting indoors, away from water, direct sunlight and hot surfaces.
- Use the supplied adapter and keep the power or charging connection accessible.
